Potluck speaker to discuss transportation
A potluck with a speaker Tara Styer, mobility manager of Tahoe Transportation, will be held Friday at South Lake Tahoe Senior Center.
Styer will talk about transit orientation and travel training. This is for people with good mobility, but limited knowledge of the transit system in the community, a press release stated. It will teach people how to travel independently by reading schedules, and familiarizing trainees with maps and bus stops. The trainings are good ways to prepare for the possibility of a time when a personal vehicle is no longer an option, the release stated.
The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Those who will participate in the potluck, which starts at 5:30 p.m., are asked to bring their own plates, utensils and either a salad side dish fruit or dessert for six to eight people. Sandra Stephens will provide a turkey. Guests are asked to call Sandra at 530-542-2034 to discuss what to bring, so there can be a variety of dishes.
For information, call the center at 530-542-6094.
