Public invited to annual blessing of the boats

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club Annual Blessing of the Boats will take place on June 26 on the lake at the end of the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Pier.

Boats will be organized in the area beyond the pier, at 10:45 a.m. Past Commodore, Jeff Williams, will be acting as director from his boat, “Misty ll.”

Boats will be directed into a line and then proceed to pass by the boat of Linda and Doug Morris, “Sierra Recess,” where the Blessing of the Boats will be done by Club Member, Father John Grace.

Members of the public who are interested in having their boats blessed, are invited to join. Meet at the pier with at 10:45 as the activity is being organized.

A Yacht Club Luau for members and guests is planned from 1:30 – 4 p.m. in the Tahoe Keys Pavilion pool area. A feast of Teriyaki chicken and beef kabobs will be furnished. Members should bring a cold side dish, appetizers or dessert for eight along with serving utensils. Please RSVP to Wendy Oleson by calling 530-542-3465.

Deadline for luncheon reservations is Wednesday. Name Tags are required to attend the event.
