Public meeting next week for bike project
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Members of the public are invited to provide input on a “high priority section” of Nevada Stateline to Stateline Bikeway project next week.
On Oct. 5, local, regional, state and federal agency partners will seek public input on the North Demonstration Project of the bikeway, according to a statement from the Tahoe Transportation District.
The goal of the project is to improve motorized, pedestrian and bicycle traffic safety and access to recreation areas along the congested east shore of Lake Tahoe.
The proposed demonstration project includes approximately three miles of shared-use path and a sidewalk on the west side of State Route 28 between Lakeshore Boulevard and the north end of Hidden Beach as well as trailhead parking and a drop-off/turnaround area just north of Tunnel Creek.
The event starts at 6 p.m. at The Chateau in Incline Village located at 955 Fairway Boulevard.
Written comments should be submitted through prior to Oct. 21. There will be additional opportunities for public input in the future.
Comments should be sent to Brain Judge, Acting Assistant Branch Chief, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Post Office Box 5310, Stateline, Nevada, 89449-5310.
