Public meeting slated for trash rate increase

El Dorado County and the South Lake Tahoe Refuse Company will hold a public hearing Dec. 15 concerning the county’s plan to increase existing refuse collection rates within the unincorporated area of El Dorado County in South Lake Tahoe.

South Tahoe Refuse has requested a 6.13-percent rate increase for each of the next two calendar years, from $13.98 per month for weekly residential pickup to $14.84, effective Jan. 1, 1999. The rate would then increase to $15.75 per month, effective Jan. 1, 2000.

All interested parties may attend and be heard at the public hearing on Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting room, 330 Fair Lane, Placerville. Comments may also be mailed to the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, 330 Fair Lane, Placerville, Calif. 95667.
