Kiwanis’ avalanche of turkeys and love included more than 500 pounds of turkey that were provided to Christmas Cheer. The donation will help many families have more enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners this year.

Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra members contributed funds for the purchase of the turkeys. Albertsons of South Lake Tahoe generously matched their contributions to provide this avalanche of turkeys and boxes of rolls to help those in need. Albertsons is offering two-for-one turkeys, one offer per family, with a $25 purchase.

Christmas Cheer is the local food pantry that provides critical food and other supplies to many needy people every day of the year.
