Raffle held at Chukar dinner


The Carson Valley Chukar Club’s 10th annual dinner, raffle and auction will take place March 2 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the program is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for youths 17 years of age and younger. Tickets are available by calling Steve Nalder at (775) 265-4544. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The dinner will feature barbecued tri-tip steak, homemade beans and salad.

The list of auction and raffle prizes will include more than two dozen high-quality guns from manufacturers including Remington, Weatherby, Beretta and Ruger. An assortment of hunting and fishing equipment and an impressive collection of wildlife art will be included in the raffle and auction. A quality shotgun will be awarded as a door prize.

Carson Valley Chukar Club is a nonprofit wildlife organization dedicated to improving the chukar population in northwestern Nevada. Since last year’ fund-raiser the club has contributed more than $75,000 to wildlife restoration programs in Nevada.
