Rainbow of Hope is tonight’s Ascent signature event
March 1, 2006
With each new year, differences over lifestyle orientation and acceptance in our culture appear to be easing.
It wasn’t always that way.
And yet for the gay and lesbian community, which has faced enormous struggles with prejudice and bigotry, each generation has become easier to navigate compared to those decades of the past.
But, for whatever gains that have been made, teenagers still continue to struggle over the issues of sexual orientation, culture and acceptance.
Tonight, an event that celebrates the very hope for future generations of gay, lesbian, transgender and those of bisexual orientation will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.
A Rainbow of Hope is the signature event during Ascent – The Winter Party at Lake Tahoe, an eight-day South Shore gay and lesbian ski week that continues through Sunday.
