Reader rises before dawn to win Tuesday’s treasure hunt

Congratulations to Jeff Lee, who won Tuesday’s Tahoe Daily Tribune “Find the Treasure Chest” hunt.

Lee was the first reader to find out treasure chest on Page 16 and correctly answer the following question: In what year did Harrah’s South Shore Room open, with Red Skelton as the first performer? Answer: 1959.

For his winning entry – sent at 4:53 a.m. Tuesday – Lee will receive an oil change, 24-point inspection and summer check from Steve’s Transmission valued at $50.

The next treasure contest question will be in Thursday’s Tribune. To make it more interesting, we will pick the 11th person who submits the correct page number and answers the Tribune’s 50th anniversary question.

Thank you for playing, and good luck in Thursday’s hunt.
