Contemporary fiction author Todd James Pierce and poet Bart Edelman will read from their work at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Lake Tahoe Community College library as part of the Writers’ Series. The event is free and open to the public.

Funded by the LTCC Foundation, the series brings nationally known, published authors to campus to talk about their work and the writing process.

Author Joan Didion selected Pierce’s latest book, “Newsworld,” for the 2006 Drue Heinz Literature Prize, a major American literary award for short fiction in the English language.

Edelman is a professor of English at Glendale College, where he edits Eclipse, a literary journal. He was poet-in-residence at Monroe College in New York, and he teaches workshops across the United States.
