Origami will be featured at the summer reading program special event at the Lake Tahoe Branch Library in Zephyr Cove Park from 1 to 2 p.m. on Aug. 1. Children of all ages as well as adults are welcome to attend the free program.

Dennis Little has volunteered at the library for many years, sharing his hobby of Japanese paperfolding. He tells the history of the ancient craft and shares many of his projects. Among the items Little has instructed participants to make are fish, Olympic medals, cranes and boxes. Parents may help the younger children with their project and everyone will take home a work of art.

“Join the Winner’s Circle — READ!” is the theme for the 2002 summer reading program. There is still time to register and finish the program. For more information call (775) 588-6411.
