Realtors to celebrate 50 years

Staff report

South Lake Tahoe’s Board of Realtors celebrate their 50th anniversary Friday with a year-end gala. Madeline Gutierrez, South Lake Tahoe Board of Realtors 2005 president, will pass the gavel to Theresa Souers at the installation and awards dinner dance.

Dinner, awards and dancing will be featured at the annual event at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The cost is $45. Festivities will begin with a social hour beginning at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., presentations of awards and the installation of the 2006 officers and directors.

The evening will culminate with dancing to live music by Uncle Funkle. Jim Hamilton, current president of the California Association of Realtors, will install the incoming officers and directors.

“We are incredibly honored that Mr. Hamilton is taking time out of his very busy schedule to help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of our board’s existence,” said Theresa Souers.

Real estate agent Don Bosson will be the emcee while Carl Fair and Deb Howard, past presidents of the South Lake Tahoe Board of Realtors, will present the awards for real estate agent of the year, rookie of the year and community service.

Tickets are available in advance at the South Lake Tahoe Board of Realtors office, located at 2307 James Avenue. The cost is $45 per person. For more information, please call (530) 541-7007.
