Recreation department to hold minimum day activity and spring break camp

The South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department has planned more than a week of activities for students who will be on spring break.

There will be a Kids’ Club Minimum Day from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Friday for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The day will include swimming, arts and crafts, snack and games. Cost is $10 and pre-registration is required.

For spring break from April 12 to 16, a week-long day camp will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. Check in by 9:15 a.m. Cost is $20 per day – $29 for Thursday – or $90 for the week.

Monday will feature soccer and swimming; Tuesday will be scooters, handball and ice skating; Wednesday will be a field trip to Harrah’s Arcade for free non-ticket video games; Thursday will be another field trip to the park, Galaxy Theater and the Carson Swim Center in Carson City (prior registration required); and Friday will feature the playground, games, crafts and swimming.

Youngsters should bring a sack lunch and warm clothes each day.

All events will be held at the recreation center complex at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. To register, call (530) 542-6056.
