Registry to bring personnel forward

Placer Independent Resource Services is forming a personnel assistant registry for the Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Alpine areas. Anyone interested in being placed on the registry should call (530) 542-0641 for an application or go to http://www.pirs.org and go to “online forms.”

Once the application is completed and returned PIRS staff will review and contact individuals for an in-person interview. Being placed on the registry does not mean the person works for PIRS. The resource service provides an information and referral service, it does not guarantee jobs.

Because a personnel care assistant can be a struggle to locate, PIRS is preparing the registry as a tool to provide Lake Tahoe residents, as well as residents in other counties, a resource for locating assistance. PIRS is a nonprofit independent living center, which serves Placer, El Dorado and Alpine counties Other services include assitive technology, peer support, benefits counseling, advocacy and self-advocacy training, information and referral and independent living skills training. Services are free and available to anyone who is disabled.
