Relay for Life seeks entertainers

Entertainers are being sought to donate their time and talent to perform July 22 and 23 at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser at Kahle Community Park, 236 Kingsbury Grade. The event is an overnight celebration of life, dedicated to current and former cancer patients and their families and friends, that raises funds to fight cancer while raising awareness about cancer prevention and the programs offered.

Needed are entertainers of all types who would like to perform sometime during Relay for Life starting at 5 p.m. Saturday to 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Although there is no payment, entertainers will receive a letter for in-kind donations, and the knowledge that they are contributing to a worthy cause.

As relay teams walk around the Relay for Life track throughout the night, groups and individuals will provide entertainment. Their involvement will add to the community party atmosphere created by team members camping out, enjoying entertainment, food, games and camaraderie.

To volunteer and for more information contact Arline Gordon of Creative Entertainment at (775) 588-6997 or e-mail Indicate what you and/or your group of performers and stage help would like to do and what time or times are convenient. Everyone is asked to pass the word along to other entertainers or those who would like to help or participate.

People who would like to help in any way other than entertainment may contact Judi Sparrow, chair, at (775) 586-1066 or e-mail
