A Season for Peace and Nonviolence will present “The Wisdom of Gandhi,” a journey of spiritual transformation, during the month of March.

Dr. Stew and Hillary Bittman will teach spiritual principles and practices that Gandhi used – and that everyone can use – to help change the world. Classes will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Monday at the Star Lake Building, 2489 Lake Tahoe Blvd. A love offering donation is appreciated. The public is invited. The topics are:

— March 10 – “Ahimsa (Nonviolence)” “Satyagraha (Soul Force)”

— March 17 – “Yield and Prevail”/”Out of the Ego Cage”

— March 24 – “The Steady Mind/The Illumined Soul”

For more information, call (530) 544-2266.

“Friday Nights Together,” a new DVD series, will start at 7 p.m. March 21. The meetings will consist of a 45-minute DVD, followed by a short break for coffee and refreshments, then a 30-minute discussion group roundtable discussion. The meetings are interactive, and group participation is encouraged. The meetings usually will end by about 8:30 p.m.

The DVD presentations will be from a biblical or Christian perspective, and either Dave or Susie Meier of Tahoe Christian Ministries, a local interdenominational, para-church, nonprofit organization, will facilitate discussion groups. These meetings are not related to or a part of any one particular Christian church in town.

All are welcome regardless of marital status, church affiliation or religious beliefs. The main objective is to bring helpful knowledge on making relationships better in a loving and caring atmosphere and from a biblical perspective. Christian married and nonmarried couples and Christian adult singles also are welcome to attend the meetings. There will be valuable knowledge for those planning to marry.

The DVD presentations and the discussions will be free, as will coffee and refreshments. There will be no child care.

Through the weeks ahead, those attending will view and discuss various DVD series on “Relationship Enhancement.” Various video series by such speakers as Jimmy Evans, David T. Moore, John Hagee and others will be inspiring to all.

Come with an open mind and an open heart to get some ideas and knowledge about proven ways to bring success and happiness into any relationship by employing biblical principles. For location and more information, call Dave or Susie Meier at (530) 544-2624 or (530) 318-8682.
