Plenty of funk and soul will cap off Black Friday at Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.

Reno’s Mojo Green takes the stage at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27.

The seven-piece “heavy horn, funk and soul” group released its debut album, “Funk in Public” in 2013. The album went on to win Reno News and Review’s Best Album of Northern Nevada that year.

“Over the last two years Mojo Green has played over 200 shows taking their high-energy, hard-hitting, crazy dance party to storied venues such as The Great American Music Hall, The Sierra Nevada Big Room, The Sweetwater Music Hall, Harlow’s, The Crystal Bay Club Crown Room, and the historic Celebrity Showroom at the Reno Nugget,” according to the band’s online biography.

“Their touring schedule has given them the honor of sharing the same stage with powerhouse national acts like The Funky Meters, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, The Motet, Trombone Shorty, Orgone, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Turkuaz, The Monophonics, Tea Leaf Green, Nigel Hall with members of Lettuce and gained them the reputation of being one of the best live acts around. Over the past couple of years they have also had the opportunity to take their unique sound to major festivals such as Burning Man, The Hangtown Halloween Ball, The Squaw Valley Funk Fest, The Bounce, For the Funk of It, Mateel Summer Fest, and The Ridgestock Music Festival.”

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
