Occupation: I’m the marketing and promotions coordinator for the Tahoe Daily Tribune. I have spent most of my career in the advertising department, learning every aspect of advertising and how it works from the advertising assistant to sales manager. I have been with the Tribune for 18 years.
How did you wind up in South Lake Tahoe?: I moved up to Tahoe with my parents when I was 5 in the winter of 1968. My parents moved here to open a muffler shop with a friend — High Sierra Muffler.
What do you like best about South Lake Tahoe?: The beauty of the mountains and the lake, the friends I have made over the years.
What do for fun when you’re not at work?: I love to read, have friends over for dinner parties and I enjoy shopping.
What was the last trip you went on?: I went to on a two-week vacation this summer to New Orleans and then on to Hawaii.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you: I enjoy collecting and learning about fine wines in this region as well as wines from Europe.
What was the last book you read?: “The Lovely Bones.”
What’s your favorite genre of music?:Country. Right now I am listening to the Dixie Chicks.
Name your top five movies of all time: “Moonstruck,” “Fried Green Tomatoes,” “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation,” “Legends of the Fall,” “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
If you could meet anyone from the past, who would it be?: My great-great-grandmother who was a Cherokee Indian. When I was growing up I heard very interesting stories about her and the challenging life she had. I would have loved to sit with her to talk about our family back in her day.
What is a pet peeve?: When people are invited to a party and they don’t RSVP.
What’s your favorite time of the year?: Spring.
What’s the oldest thing in your refrigerator?: Salad dressing.
Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt?: Definitely Brad Pitt!
What keeps you going?: Love of life, family, friends.
What’s your advice to teenagers out there?: Follow your dream and make every day count!
