Report: Nevada food stamp enrollment up
LAS VEGAS – A new report says nearly 10 percent of Nevadans, or about 238,000 residents, are now enrolled in the state’s food stamp program.
The state Health and Human Services Department estimates the figure will rise to 20 percent of Nevadans in the coming years.
The report from consulting firm Applied Analysis also says enrollment in the food stamp program has increased by more than 50 percent in the past year.
