Resorts West, the manager of the Ridge Tahoe Resorts, recently announced several promotions within the company's leadership team.

Company CEO Lex Adams said the internal promotions are indicative of Resorts West's culture.

"We've established a culture that inspires longevity and promotion from within our Resorts West family," Adams, who's been with the company since 1982, said in a press release. "The guiding principle from day one has stressed quality operations throughout all our companies. That charge has been led by an exemplary executive group of industry veterans and a staff of team members empowered to make decisions to provide consistently dependable service for the comfort of our guests."

The following promotions were announced:

A hospitality veteran with 33 years of resort, real estate and executive leadership experience, Slack, 58, oversees all aspects of both companies and is currently the broker for Resorts West. He joined Resorts West in 1988 as assistant resort manager for several operational departments and has held progressively expanded positions with the company including director of operations, vice president, and senior vice president and general manager prior to his current duties.

Steven Wilhite, 62, was promoted to president of Resort Investment Capital. He manages all sales and marketing aspects of the Resorts West Vacation Club memberships, and serves as project broker for the company. Wilhite's real estate career began with Century 21, after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1978. Wilhite moved to Lake Tahoe and became senior vice president of sales and marketing for The Ridge Tahoe resort.
