Restoration workshop slated

More than 100 people have registered for a High Mountain Restoration Workshop to be held next week, and conservation officials are encouraging people to register soon if they want to attend.

“It’s very popular, so register early,” said Doug Witt, spokesman for the Nevada Tahoe Conservation District.

The workshop is designed to provide a wide range of restoration and re-vegetation techniques for residents and agency officials. The workshop will be designed to teach non-technical property owners of innovative and cost-effective erosion-control alternatives.

The workshop is scheduled for April 15 and 16 at the Cal Neva Lodge in Crystal Bay. The cost is $75. Information is available by calling (530) 541-5654.
