Rim trail to be run for Boys & Girls club

The ultra runner Blakely Hume will attempt to run the Tahoe Rim Trail in less than 60 hours this year to benefit the Boys and Girls Cub of Lake Tahoe and Douglas County Search and Rescue.

The Ridge EAGLES Club, a group of employees from the Ridge Tahoe, will sponsor the run. There are several ways to help sponsor the event. One way is to sponsor Hume for $1 a mile, that’s 164 miles he has to run.

Raffle tickets are one for $5 or five for $20. They are available from the Ridge EAGLES and the Boys and Girls Club. Prizes include a one-week Interval International trip to anywhere in the world, plus $500, a Ridge Tahoe weekend, a season midweek pass to Kirkwood and a Harrah’s midweek getaway. The drawing will be held Aug. 26 at the Zephyr Cove Beach Resort.

The Ridge EAGLES will be selling food on Sunday at the Zephyr Cove Resort and working up a loud hooray when Hume runs to the finish.
