Robert Allen Zick
Robert Allen Demuth Zick, a South Lake Tahoe resident, passed away June 28, 2007, in Reno, Nev. He was 25.
A celebration of Robert’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Camp Richardson, 1900 Jameson Beach Road, South Lake Tahoe. A shuttle bus will start running at 10 a.m. from the corner of Emerald Bay Road and Lake Tahoe Boulevard, in the Miller’s Outpost parking lot, for those wishing to attend.
Robert was born March 11, 1982, in Topeka, Kan., to Bernard Hale Zick and Carol Jean Demuth. He lived in Overland Park, Kan., for two years before moving to San Diego, Calif. He attended Rancho Santa Fe Grade School. In 1989 he moved to Kingwood, Texas, and graduated from Kingwood High School and attended Kingwood College. In 2002 he moved to his paradise, South Lake Tahoe, where he worked as a snowboard instructor for Heavenly Valley. He also worked at Camp Richardson for a year, and has been in construction since. Robert was a job foreman in construction of hotels/casinos, working for SMC, and Mile High Painting and Drywall where he worked on the Marriot and the future convention center.
Robert was a high scorer in soccer and was a youth soccer coach. He enjoyed music and played the drums on a professional level. He also worked as a DJ. Robert was a gourmet cook and entertained often. He enjoyed skateboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking and bike stunts, off-roading his Jeep, riding his motorcycle, golfing, wakeboarding, cliff diving, fishing, stamp collecting, designing and displaying his tattoos. Although Robert participated in many sports, his love of snowboarding surpassed all other sports. The ultimate joy of his life was his newborn baby girl, Nevaeh.
Robert was a troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 1377, receiving his Life award, and was elected to the elite Order Of The Arrow. Robert also volunteered for the United Methodist Army to construct homes for the needy and was voted the One Who Most Exemplifies United Methodist Army.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kim Zick; daughter, Nevaeh Hale Zick; and stepchildren, Andrew, Alyssa and Adrian, all of South Lake Tahoe; mother, Carol Jean Demuth; brothers, Andrew Zick and Derek Zick; and sister, Katrina Zick, all of Kingwood, Texas; grandparents, Earnest and Alice Demuth of Dodge City, Kan.; and his birth mother, Lori Short. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Hale Zick.
Arrangements are in the care of Autumn Funerals & Cremations in Carson City.
