Robert J. Boone: 1926-2010

Robert J. Boone passed away on Aug. 18, 2010, following a one-and-a-half year illness. Boone was born to Emil and Julia Boone on April 1, 1926, in Chicago, Ill. He married his wife of almost 62 years, Avalon, on Sept. 28, 1948, in Chicago. The family later moved to Los Angeles in 1960.

The Boones retired in 1989 and moved to South Lake Tahoe, Calif., where Robert Boone became active in the Lake Tahoe Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue Squad and acted as commander for several years.

He is survived by his wife, sons Michael, Steven and Patrick and several grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
