Robert Sanders

Services will take place July 30 in Roseburg, Ore., for Robert Sanders, who died July 22, 2006, in Roseburg.

Bob was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Spokane, Wash., and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Washington State University. He met his future wife, Lorrie, while singing in a madrigal group in college. They were married June 1951 and were devoted to each other for 54 years. Bob served in the Air Force for 13 years and in that time he took his family to many wonderful places. He had a way of making any place feel like home and traveling was always an adventure.

He left the Air Force to answer God’s call to serve as a minister for the Presbyterian Church. He served in Garberville and South Lake Tahoe, Calif., and as an interim pastor in Tri-City and Roseburg, Ore. He was an exceptional father and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Marianne; sons, Ronald and Bradley; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bill; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorrie, in November 2005.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. July 30 at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Lane and Jackson streets in Roseburg.
