Rock collector club meets Tuesday

Want to learn the secret to finding meteorites? Want to meet a real-life, successful prospector and see some treasure? Want to take a geology field trip and suddenly discover gold?

The High Desert Rockers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the new National Guard Armory, 2460 Fairview Drive, Carson City. There is no cost to attend.

The group holds monthly meetings and featured guest speakers. The group plans activities and hosts special events and demonstrations.



This month’s guest is renowned gold prospector Clay Rogers, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience. His presentation is “Metal Detecting for Gold and Meteorites.”

The meeting will feature displays, a showcase sale and trade table, light snacks and treats, and drawings for door prizes.
