Rock, Latin and blues supergroup Los Lobos will play Tahoe’s South Shore on Friday, Oct. 6.
“If Los Lobos has learned one thing in nearly four decades together, it’s that playing by the rules is not for them,” states a release from Red Light Management.
“The 20th anniversary re-release of Los Lobos’ landmark ‘Kiko’ album by Shout! Factory on August 21 — bursting with bonus tracks and a live DVD in addition to the original album — serves as a potent reminder of why going rogue was the best thing this legendary American quintet ever did.”
Los Lobos formed in 1973 and is known for their cover of the hit “La Bamba,” featured in the 1987 film of the same name. The song also placed No. 1 on the Billboard chart; however, the band hit a slump shortly afterwards due to a lack of confidence, according to band member Steve Berlin, who joined the band in 1984.
Los Lobos picked up its stride once again in the early ‘90s with “Kiko,” and the rest is history.
“Their influence is vast, yet they remain humble, centered and dedicated to their craft. Each new recording they make moves Los Lobos into another new dimension while simultaneously sounding like no one else in the world but Los Lobos,” continues the release.
Tickets are available for $40, plus tax and fees, online via Ticketmaster.
