Coburn Station will start the weekend with some rock ’n’ roll at Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.
The band plays a free show Friday night, April 15, in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe’s Vinyl venue.
“Hailing from North Lake Tahoe, Coburn Station brings a soulful blend of blues rock and psychedelic jams to keep the crowd groovin’,” according to a biography from the band. “The band combines engaging original music with a variety of cover material including some from their biggest influences like Pink Floyd, The Band, Phish, The Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead. Coburn Station’s mix of energetic rock ‘n’ roll, funk and dance music makes for a perfect party, and (it) will quickly have you both head-banging and dancing the night away.”
The band recently released “Coming Home,” an 11-track album that blends a variety of rock genres.
“I think there is a really good variety in the songs to where some of it is heavier, really loud, kind of aggressive,” lead guitarist and vocalist Dan McAlister told the Sierra Sun. “There are other areas to it that are really psychedelic and spacey. And there are things that are a little more bluesy, things that are more country Americana.”
Doors open to Friday’s show at 8:30 p.m., and music starts at 9 p.m.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
