Rodney Lane

Stateline resident Rodney Lane died Sept. 10, 2005, in Reno. He was 55.

Mr. Lane was born Sept. 2, 1948 in California to Roger G. Lane and Ella Lane Lockhart. He met and married Sandra “Sandy” Kline in Pico Rivera, Calif.

Mr. Lane served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War as a door gunner in a Huey helicopter. He was honorably discharged.

He and his wife owned and operated at the Builder at Coso Junction Ranch in the upper Mojave Desert. Mr. Lane and his wife owned and operated Miller’s Market in Gardnerville, Nev. and the Pony Express Café in Minden, Nev.

Mr. Lane is survived by his wife Sandra of Stateline, mother Ella Lane Lockhart of Gardnerville, children and their spouses Jennifer and Ron Fritz of Lake Tahoe and Iraq, Cathy and Jeremy Keene of Fort Hood, Texas, Cheyanne Lane and Jason Garland of Lake Tahoe, Rodney II and Lea Lane of Lake Tahoe, his sister Lindsay Meindl of Barstow, Calif., eight grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Matthew, Jonathon, Brayden, Nikki, Turry and Rodney E. Lane III, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Roger Lane.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Family Options Funeral and Tribute Services. The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at Family Options Funeral and Tribute Services.
