Memorial services will take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, Nev., for Roger A. Tasler, who died Nov. 12, 2005, in Reno. He was 61.

Roger was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Anthony John and Atha Lavonne Tasler. He was an avid sports fan and loved playing basketball with his son, Tony. He was a teacher and coach at Melvin High School in Melvin, Iowa, and coached the girls basketball team all the way to the Iowa State Tournament in 1977. He had been a resident of Dyersville, Iowa, and South Lake Tahoe before moving to Reno and the Carson Valley in 1985.

He is survived by son, Anthony W. Tasler of Reno; daughter, Kristina L. Bradshaw of San Clemente, Calif.; lifelong companion, Patricia Tasler of Gardnerville, Nev.; granddaughter, Taylor E. Tasler-Oatley; sister; Marlene Black of Farnhamville, Iowa; and brothers, Dennis Tasler of Webster City, Iowa, Norman Tasler of Omaha, Neb., Duane Tasler of Gowrie, Iowa; and Don Tasler of Churdan, Iowa.
