Roles determined on utility board

A past president of the South Tahoe Public Utility District Board of Directors will again fill that position in 2000 while the newest member of the board will sit as vice president.

Chris Strohm, who has served on STPUD’s board since 1994 and has previously served as president and vice president, will be holding the gavel during 2000 meetings. Pembroke Gochnauer, who has served since 1998, will be vice president.

James Jones, who has been elected to the board several times and is the longest-serving director in STPUD’s history, was president in 1999.

Strohm, co-owner of Strohm-Tremain Commercial Builders, has been a strong spokesman for the district against the controversial fuel additive MTBE.

He has been an active member of the community since 1970.

Gochnauer, a real estate agent for Aspen Realty and South Lake Tahoe resident since 1979, is active in youth sports and in South Tahoe area recreation.
