Rory Reid hosts northern Nev. events Saturday

RENO – Rory Reid will be hosting two community events in northern Nevada on Saturday to talk to voters as he prepares to run for governor in next year’s election.

Reid will speak with the Lyon County Democratic Club at 10 a.m. at the Stagecoach Community Center.

After that he’ll be in Reno, where he’ll host a community barbecue at Paradise Park. That event begins at noon.

Reid is chairman of the Clark County Commission and the son of U.S. Sen. Harry Reid.

So far he’s the only Democrat who has announced an intent to run for governor, after Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley took herself out of contention last week.
