The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe will begin contributing to the community on a monthly basis by providing able bodies for projects that benefit the community.

The club has already scheduled four projects, the first of which was a beach cleanup July 31.

The goal is to contribute to different aspects of the community based on community need.

If a community member has an idea for the club, they should fill out a project application available via e-mail at khaven@gmail.com. The group is hoping to include any community members or group who wish to partner to improve South Lake Tahoe.

Work days will usually be scheduled for a weekend day and consist of three to four hours of labor.

Upcoming workdays include a cleanup of the demonstration garden at in Angora burn area Aug. 21-28; participation in the Bijou Bash Sept. 11; and a volunteer event Oct. 2. This winter, there are plans to aid seniors and the disabled with snow removal.
