Once again the South Lake Tahoe Rotary Club has sponsored the Rotary Basketball Classic. The tournament is just one of many youth activities and scholarships sponsored by the service club throughout the Tahoe Basin. The club recently presented $750 to Derek Allister, head coach of the South Tahoe High School Vikings Basketball program.

South Lake Tahoe Rotary is currently in the middle of selling raffle tickets for “The Great Car Raffle,” where they give a Jeep Grand Cherokee or $25,000 to the winner. All proceeds go for the scholarship program from which the club gives away more then $25,000.

Twenty-five tickets will be drawn at the March 27 Rotary meeting and the final winner will be drawn at the April 3 meeting. The club meets at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Special Events Center. Raffle tickets are $50 each and are available from any South Lake Tahoe Rotary member or by calling (530) 577-4484.
