The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe held its annual high school music competition Feb. 15 at Harveys. Rotary congratulates Faye Pekar (4th place, violin); Sebastiani Romagnolo (tie 3rd place, piano); Kyle Conroy (tie 3rd place, trombone); Rand Norberg (2nd place, trombone); and winner two years in a row, Troy Mikanovich (1st place, tuba).

Each year the South Lake Tahoe Rotary Club provides much needed community service both locally and worldwide. Current year local projects to date include $3,500 to the Boys and Girls Club, $3,500 to Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation for children’s winter clothing, $1,200 to El Dorado County Search & Rescue, $4,090 to Christmas Cheer, $1,000 to the eighth grade anti-drug program and $4,000 in health care scholarships.
