Tickets are going fast for one of the best Irish parties of the year. The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club will host the 35th annual St. Patrick’s Day Wine Tasting and Corned Beef Feed from 6 to 11 p.m. March 15 at Harrah’s Special Events Center. Everyone is invited to come and join in a Lake Tahoe tradition. They will have an opportunity to enjoy a complete Irish buffet dinner featuring corned sirloin of beef and cabbage with all the trimmings and sample generous pours of premium California wine from 12 different wineries. Music and dancing complete a full evening of St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

The event features an incredible silent auction with more than 100 accommodation packages to cities throughout the country. Some of the fabulous destinations are Hawaii, San Diego, Anaheim, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, Pasadena, San Francisco, Monterey, Walnut Creek, Seattle, Palm Springs, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Boca Raton, Jacksonville and Miami. Other great auction items include ski passes for local resorts, golf packages, cruises on Lake Tahoe, artwork and dining gift certificates. There also will be instant raffle prizes featuring local restaurants and retailers.

The St. Patrick’s Day Wine Tasting is the service club’s major fund-raiser to provide for college scholarships and donations to local nonprofit organizations. Last year, the proceeds allowed the club to donate $12,000 in academic scholarships to 10 local high school seniors and another $15,000 to local community programs that benefit everyone at Lake Tahoe.

The ticket donation is $40 per person and reserved tables of 10 are available for $400. Each ticket will be entered in the grand prize drawing for a Las Vegas vacation. The prize includes airfare, two nights in a suite at the Rio, dinner and show.

Tickets may be purchased from any Tahoe Douglas Rotary member or at Affordable Lawncare, 854 Emerald Bay Road, Lakeside Inn & Casino cashier cage, East Shore Digest at Round Hill, Colonial Bank on Kingsbury Grade, Wells Fargo Bank on Highway 50 in Stateline, Selective Accommodations and Hot Springs Spas on Highway 50 at Elks Point Road. They also are available by calling Conrad Buedel at (775) 749-1033.
