S. Lake Tahoe crimes

The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Tuesday, April 6

1:06 a.m., Wildwood and Osgood avenues, South Lake Tahoe – Hit and run. A plow driver reported seeing a late model, dark blue Jimmy fail to negotiate a corner and slide into the Pinewood Lodge. The motel sustained damage to the a venting system and window.



6:47 p.m., 2500 block of Alma Ave., South Lake Tahoe – Petty theft. A man reported the theft of a snowboard and tattoo equipment from his residence.

7:08 p.m., 2500 block of Elwood Ave., South Lake Tahoe – Brandishing. Philip Jiminez, 44, of South Lake Tahoe was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a knife against a woman he claimed took a ring from him. The woman told police that a man named Phil, who lived down the street with his mother, had been in her apartment threatening her with a kitchen knife. She said she did refuse to give Jiminez a ring, but it had been a joke. Jiminez denied having a knife. He was also arrested on suspicion of violating his parole, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
