Sammy Hagar’s 40 years in rock and roll returns to Lake Tahoe’s South Shore this weekend.
Hagar heads back to Stateline Saturday, Sept. 5, with his latest group, the Circle, and its “A Journey Through the History of Rock Tour.” The group includes Michael Anthony, Van Halen’s former bass player; drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson, a member of the Waboritas, Hagar’s previous band.
Sammy Hagar and the Circle released a live album, “At Your Service,” in May, and Hagar has mentioned the possibility of a studio album with the group. Many of the songs from “At Your Service” are reflected on the group’s latest set lists.
Its set list from their Aug. 15 show in Missouri included Led Zeppelin songs “Good Times Bad Times,” “Whole Lotta Love” and “Rock and Roll.” Sammy Hagar’s solo work and Van Halen’s “Right Now,” “Why Can’t This Be Love,” “Dreams” and “Runaround” also made the list.
“Fans will have a rare opportunity to experience music spanning more than 40 years of Hagar’s career — and with Jason Bonham on board, they can also expect a few of Led Zeppelin’s biggest hits added to the mix. Experience the journey,” according to a tour announcement.
