Sand Harbor boat ramp to close after Labor Day

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) – The boat ramp at Sand Harbor State Park on Lake Tahoe’s east short will close the day after Labor Day because of low water levels.

Park officials say the parking lot will remain open for carry-in boat access, and inspectors will provide free inspections of non-motorized boats for invasive species.

They say the closure is necessary to prevent boats and the launch lanes from being damaged.

Beginning Sept. 7, people with motorized boats are being advised to use the boat ramp at Cave Rock.
