Scholarships awarded to South Tahoe High students

The winners of this year’s Ed Cook Tree and Crane Service scholarships for South Tahoe Highs School’s Industrial Arts Academy have been announced.

The scholarships are part of the “Woodchips for Scholarships Program.”

This year Jorge Reyes and Jovian King were awarded the Automotive Repair Scholarship, a $500 shopping spree at Napa Auto Parts that was donated at cost.

The $500 cash Computer Aided Drafting scholarship was awarded to Josh Ansen and Sam Satin.

Jonathan LaRue and Brian Torres earned the $500 shopping spree, donated at cost by Meeks Lumber in Meyers, for their excellence in R.O.P. in Construction.

The technical skills these students learn through the dedication and knowledge of their teachers, as well as the modern venue at the high school, serve as the foundation for so many wonderful careers, according to a letter from the Ed Cook Tree Service, which also extended a congratulations to the students.
