Douglas County School District board president and Lake Tahoe resident Cindy Trigg is planning a run for U.S. Congress.

The Zephyr Cove resident successfully defended her school board seat in 2008.

It would be the third time Rep. Dean Heller, a Carson City resident has faced a Douglas County Democrat, since he defeated Jill Derby the first time in 2006.

Trigg was first elected to the school board in 2004.

The announcement was made on the Douglas County Democrats Web site.
