School district looks at finances today

A special meeting regarding a financial evaluation and three-year projection for Lake Tahoe Unified School District will take place today at 4:30 p.m. at the district office.

Two leaders from School Services of California have a 90-minute time period to present an analysis of the budget to school board members, education officials and members of the audience.

Ron Bennett, president and chief executive officer of School Services of California, and Jerry Twomey, director of management consulting services, will present the information to the board.

The report consists of more than 60 pages. A one-page summary will be handed out to audience members.

The analysis was conducted in November and December.

After a short break, various representatives will have the opportunity to address the board. They include a representative from the South Tahoe Educators Association, California School Employees Association, Confidential/Supervisory Employees, Leadership Team and seven parent representatives, one from each LTUSD school site.

The district office is located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The meeting is expected to end around 8 p.m. after the public hearing session.
