On April 29, the Wolf scouts of Zephyr Cove Elementary, troop 468, gathered at the parking lot of the Round Hill Safeway to fulfill their “Living World Achievement.” The exercise is to teach the scouts the importance of, and to respect, the environment and its natural resources.

The scouts participated in cleaning the forested area just north of the Round Hill Square. The waste was disposed of and the recyclable materials were turned in to the South Tahoe Recycling Center in South Lake Tahoe. The proceeds were invested back into the pack’s treasure fund.

The den would like to say “Thank you” to Safeway for its generous donation and continued community support.

The scouts participating in the cleanup were Marcus Foerschler, Spenser Buchholz, Mark Waite, Michael Edwards, Connor Chase, Austin Brooks, Matthew Smith, John Verbeten, Ben Manoukian, Riley Gruber and Charlie Jurzenski.
