The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club will host the annual barbecue and potluck celebration Aug. 31 at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane next to Lampe Park in Gardnerville, Nev.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the event, which has been termed “the biggest we have undertaken.” All seniors in Douglas County are welcome to attend and it is not necessary to be a Young at Heart member or a regular at the senior center.

Highlights of the days festivities will be the celebration of all coupled who have been married 50 years or more. Last years longest married couple had been married for 68 years. The entrZe and champagne will be provided by Young at Heart. It would be appreciated if participants would bring a side dish or dessert.
