Septoberfest returns to MontBleu Resort

Provided to the TribunePartygoers at the 2008 Septoberfest participate in a beer stein holding contest.

The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra’s eighth annual SeptOberfest is returning to MontBleu Resort Casino.

The evening event that has grown each year allows the club to continue to give back to the children in our community through such organizations as Tahoe Youth and Family Services, CASA, Coats for Kids, South Tahoe High School Sober Grad Night, Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe and the South Lake Tahoe Library, among others.

The event will include a full German buffet, wine tasting and a large beer garden. The first 250 guests will receive a commemorative SeptOberfest beer glass.

The popular silent auction returns with donations including a bike donated by Sports LTD, a set of golf irons from CV Sports in Carson City and baskets filled with wine donated from fine wineries. The art auction area will feature works donated from Tahoe galleries as well as photographers and artists from the Tahoe Art League.

Our German Maidens are returning and new this year will be Dr. George Worth with his oompah band. Derek Tarpy “Lake DJ” will provide music throughout the evening.

Tickets are available by calling Phil Blowney at 530-318-2912 or Marie Foster at 530-318-9197. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $35. Reserved tables are still available for eight to 10 guests.
