Soroptimist Community Service Grant Applications are available for Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe Foundation’s 2006 Ð 2007 Community Service Grants program. Community organizations are encouraged to submit creative grant proposals that will create a lasting benefit for women and/or youth in the community. Deadline for receipt of applications is Sept. 29.

Most noted for its annual food and wine tasting, “The Best of Tahoe,” Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe Foundation is also known for service to the community. Throughout the years the service club has become increasingly effective in raising and creatively distributing funds among various organizations within the community as well as donating time and effort toward these projects

The Community Service Grants program began in 1997 as a more equitable way for the club to award funding requests received from many worthy community groups. By receiving and reviewing applications at one time each year all applications compete on an equal footing.
