Sheriff’s Office looking for Tahoe Valley change thieves

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is asking South Shore merchants and banks to be on the lookout for anyone using large amounts of quarters for transactions after a change machine was stolen from the Tahoe Valley Campground last week.

Unknown subjects took the machine during a burglary in the evening hours of Sept. 23, said Detective Matthew Harwood in an e-mail.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a white, older-model sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Harwood at 530-573-3015.
