Sierra Club and Aspen Hollow host garden party

Aspen Hollow Nursery and the Tahoe Area Sierra Club are hosting a summer Garden Party from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the nursery, 541 Emerald Bay Road.

Wine and appetizers will be served compliments of the nursery and the Sierra Club. John Fellows, owner of Aspen Hollow Nursery, will lead a question and answer session on several landscape and garden topics, including native plant care and selection, proper potting and pruning techniques, correct use of fertilizer, how to choose and care for soils and how to compost. Aspen Hollow staff will also be available to answer questions and help with plant selections. Guests will receive a 10 percent discount on all plants, trees and soil amendments purchased during the evening.

The cost is $10 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Tahoe Area Sierra Club. The club focuses on educating the public about critical conservation issues and encourages participation through grassroots action and outdoor activities.
