Sierra House fifth-graders receive $6,000 field-trip scholarship

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Sierra House Elementary fifth-graders received a $6,180 grant to attend the Headlands Institute in Marin County. This is the second year the class with attend the 3-day science program.

“It’s an amazing outdoor education program,” said principal Ryan Galles. “They tailor it to our fifth grade science standards.”

The trip is planned for June 4-6, 2012. The school will need to fundraise to make up the difference in the cost of the trip.
