Sierra Nevada Cancer Center opened a new cancer treatment center at 1154 Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe on July 1.

Sierra Nevada Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art oncology and hematology facility, according to a press release. The facility contains private rooms, comfortable treatment chairs and is specifically designed to make treatment relaxing and comfortable, the release stated.

“This is a tremendous plus for anyone who is undergoing cancer treatment because they don’t have to travel long distances that take them away from their work, family or loved ones,” Dr. Jorge Perez, a board-certified oncologist/hematologist stated in a press release. “This convenience alleviates the time, expense and stress of travel and allows patients to use their energy and resources toward healing,” he added.
