Singer performs for potluck

Joan San Agastin will entertain at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Citizen, Inc. potluck dinner meeting. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. March 7 at the senior center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Agastin’s singing debut began when she was 8 years old and won third prize in a singing contest in the Philippines. She sang in a choir there from the ages of 10 to 15. In 1990 she moved to Lake Tahoe and graduated from George Whittell High School. She has been a member of the Lake Tahoe Filipino Community Choir and has sung in the Lake Tahoe Community College Pops Choir since 2002, under the direction of Mark Williams. She also has participated in the LTCC Performance Arts League shows since 2001, including “Ain’t Misbehaving” in March 2002.

Everyone attending the potluck is reminded to bring a plate and utensils as well as their favorite food dish for six to eight people. Members of Seniors Citizens, Inc., who attend the event can win a $25 door prize. Guests are welcome and everyone can win cash raffle prizes. All are encouraged to come and bring friends.
